WITH A FEW TRICKS YOU CAN SAVE TIME AND BE READY IN NO TIME AT ALL Of all the things you have to do every day, one thing often falls through: take the time to bring healthy food to the table. And then you are often so stressed that the fun and pleasure of cooking passes you by. Not a good combination. Leon and I both work a lot and for a long time and have to organize ourselves accordingly. Over time, however, we have learned to observe a few basics to save time when cooking. So it’s more a question of priority and organization. And I’m sure: with a few little tricks, you can regain pleasure in cooking and prepare delicious dishes that you won’t have to stay in the kitchen for long.

1. ORGANIZE YOUR KITCHEN

Preparation is half the battle. If you organize your kitchen well, you’ll have all the necessary ingredients and tools at hand and you can start right away. Think about the kitchen gadgets you use most often and keep them handy. I always have a cutting board, a good kitchen knife, my favourite frying pan and a medium-sized saucepan handy.

2. COOK #MEALPREP FOR YOUR STOREROOM

Do you know that too? Especially on days with a busy schedule, you’re very grateful that you’ve already prepared the first steps for dinner the night before. If you’re chopping vegetables or making sauces, it’s best to make more right away. You can then start cooking even faster the next day.

Again, you can often prepare twice the amount without too much effort and then chill or freeze the rest for another meal. So you have a healthy meal for the next day. Before everything is well packed in the refrigerator, let the food cool down first. This way, your refrigerator uses less energy.

Soups and stews are ideal as homemade meals made from broth and often taste even better when reheated than freshly cooked! One of my favourites here is my vegan black bean chilli pepper. It simply tastes better when it is well designed.

3. HANDY KITCHEN AIDS

It is not only the organization of your tools that saves you time when cooking: the selection of your kitchen appliances can also be optimized. Sometimes you forget the luxury of a well-equipped kitchen. You might also be surprised how quickly and easily vegetables can be processed with the right knife, grater or high-performance blender.

4. RELY ON QUICK AND SIMPLE RECIPES

An organized kitchen, the preparation of ingredients or whole meals and practical cooking aids are indispensable if you want to save time in the kitchen.
